New journeys of Superman

The New journeys of Superman was a real-life TV series impressed on DC comics of Superman.

It first run on ABC, thirtheenth of December 1993 and it ran for 4 seasons with twenty-two episodes each. Dean Cain, starring as Superman, bizarre person from different planet with powers and capabilities beyond those of an ordinary human, who camouflaged as a reports correspondent and worked for the Daily Planet, the number one paper in Metropolis. Lois Lane, played by Teri Hatcher, a hard-driving female correspondent, who’s a work mate of Kent thinks of him a country-boy and does not know that he and Superman is one. Clark Kent also makes visit at his hometown, Smallville, where he had grown up after the rocket carrying him from Planet Krypton crashed close to the farm of his ma and pa who adopted him was Martha and Jonathan Kent, played by K Callan and Eddie Jones. Though there had been some action, the stress was on love, with a powerful dose of humour.

This also attracted a female fan base which became its dependable spectators. A different aspect of the Lois and Clark series which brought some great humor and humanity to it was actually the late Lane Smith’s portrayal of stories editor and chief Perry White, Lois and Clark was the 1st show that I’d seen give Perry White an identity beyond being the manager, and the dynamic of him being like a dad figure to his newshounds, particularly the young Jimmy Olsen worked well. Their special effect is miles away from the effects that we see on TV shows and pictures today nonetheless it did well since TV effects are pricey during those days.
